• Imaginarius revelation tours international festivals

    The Cão à Chuva project – an Imaginarius creation which surprised audiences on this edition and packed the streets and squares of Santa Maria da Feira during all their performances of “Lullaby” – will take part, on 6 and 7 July, at Seville’s Circada festival, where it is being heralded as 2015’s major revelation.

Imaginarius to become more accessible to visitors with special needs

For the first time in its 15 editions, Imaginarius – International Street Theatre Festival of Santa Maria da Feira will be promoting guided tours of the event’s venue for visitors with special needs, which will be led by an interpreter of Portuguese Sign Language (PSL). The event’s official webpage will soon feature PSL translation of the various sections of the festival.

Art Students will leave their mark on Imaginarius

The venue of the Imaginarius festival will feature, in this edition, new signs for its child visitors which were created and designed by youngsters. Visual Arts students from the municipality’s secondary schools took the challenge, got inspired and are currently producing 15 large format “i”s, in plywood, which are to serve as a reference point for the activities of Imaginarius Infantil.

An unusual tribute to the history of cork

The Imaginarius festival will pay tribute to the municipality’s cork processing industry, the world’s stopper production epicentre and of other byproducts of this natural product. From 15 November to 14 December, Lourosa’s House of Culture will host the multichannel sound installation “Cork Sound Memory”, by Luís Gomes da Costa, coordinator of the Binaural/Nodar association.

Selected local creations

“Tuki – We are from the Hood”, by the All About Dance company, and “Um palmo de EstupideZ”, by the EZ project, are the two Feirense creations which have been selected to join next year’s programme of the Imaginarius festival, within the scope of the competition for supporting local creation that was launched last October.

‘Mais Imaginarius’ winners invited to collective project

The winners of MEO Imaginarius’ off section – Moradavaga, The Strings and Circortito – have been invited to work together for the next edition of the festival, crossing their artistic fields: installation, performance and clown.
