Until 31 March 31, applications are open for the international and intergenerational volunteering program Imaginarius Participa, aimed at people aged over 16. It will be an experience of personal and professional enrichment for young and not-so-young people, who will find it a unique opportunity to join the multidisciplinary team of the Imaginarius festival, an event to be held from 23 to 26 May, under the sign of Freedom.
Defined by the participants of the last edition as “a strong, unique and passionate experience”, the volunteering project Imaginarius Participa involves people of different ages and from different geographies, which anables them to understand the greatness of the festival, communicate in different languages with different audiences, take part in shows with an international dimension, be welcomed and integrated into the great Imaginarius family, building lifelong friendships.
The functions to be performed by the Imaginarius volunteers focus on five key areas: audience guidance; production support; support for volunteer coordination; dissemination and information; and support for the festival’s complementary services.
Availability, experience and motivation to participate in this international and intergenerational project are fundamental criteria to consider in the selection process. The team of volunteers are entitled to free training, food and the Imaginarius Participa Kit, in addition to travel and accommodation grants, in applicable situations.
During the four days of the festival, Imaginarius volunteers will be responsible for carrying out specific tasks, previously assigned based on the profile and availability of each person, namely providing information about the programme and complementary services, distributing promotional material for the event, audience guidance and management, control of access to shows, support for the sale of merchandising, support for companies and festival production teams, participation/collaboration in shows (handling sets and props) and distribution of support material to the volunteer team.
Participation in the Imaginarius festival is an enriching experience and a milestone in the individual journey of each volunteer, especially for the opportunity to be part of a cultural and artistic project with more than two decades of experience in the national and international promotion of street arts.
It should be noted that, in 2023, the Imaginarius Participa recorded the highest number of applications ever in its ten editions (two hundred) and a significant number of nationalities represented.
In addition to a morning of training aimed at volunteers, all those selected will be able to participate in the First Aid and Accessibility workshops, areas that are fundamental to the smooth running of the festival.
