The deadline for submitting applications for the Support for Local Creation Call and Mais Imaginarius – Artistic Creations Competition, within the scope of Imaginarius – International Street Theatre Festival, was extended until 15 November.
The City Council of Santa Maria da Feira, as promoter of Imaginarius – International Street Theatre Festival, and within the scope of the Support for Local Creation Call, continues to appreciate and involve local cultural and creative agents in this major project, challenging associations, local companies and independent artists, from or living in the municipality, to present new artistic creations to be part the programme of the 20th edition of Imaginarius, thus providing an exclusive call for local cultural and creative agents.
The projects to be presented should be original creations in the field of theatre, dance, music, circus, performance, installation, digital art, urban and multidisciplinary art, focused on interaction with public space and framed in the theme of the 2020 edition, “The Myth”.

The 20 selected projects will compete at the 20th edition of the Imaginarius Festival and will be evaluated by a jury whose members have national and international reputation, from academic, artistic and cultural institutions. All selected participants will receive a grant for travel, food, accommodation, technical support and promotion of their projects on the festival networks, as well as the possibility to participate and present their work at Imaginarius PRO, a marketplace for programmers and artistic directors.
The winner of this International Competition will receive a cash prize of 5,000 euros to support a creation in artist residency to be premiered at the 2021 edition of Imaginarius.
