Portugal’s largest street theatre festival to take place from 23 to 25 May

Imaginarius – International Street Arts Festival, a reference in Portugal and abroad, is already scheduled. It will be between 23 and 25 May that the historic centre of Santa Maria da Feira will once again turn into a giant stage that will be crossed by people and different imaginaries.

In display of the dynamism of the Municipality of Santa Maria da Feira in the field of artistic and contemporary creation, the programme of the 19th edition of Imaginarius is, once again, investing on the quality and diversity of its shows, bringing major Portuguese and international companies not only to the public space of Feira’s historical centre, but also to the António Lamoso Cine-Theatre, the Cloisters of the Parish Church, the Municipal Market, the Lóios Museum and the Municipal Library.

The intense programme of Imaginarius is divided into several areas – pre-festival premieres, right at the beginning of May; Main Programme; Imaginarius Infantil; Imaginarius Creations and Mais Imaginarius – thus giving space to renowned companies as well as emerging artists, local associations and artists, and to the municipality’s projects of creative and social intervention.

The official image of the 2019 Imaginarius lets you guess, at the first glance, the main theme of this edition – “Memory”. The written, narrated and visual memories “stored” in the human brain will be exalted through the programme, transporting the audience to their own childhood or intergenerational memories.

Between 23 and 25 May, Santa Maria da Feira will guarantee “Unique Moments. Unforgettable Memories”.
