A self-supporting ladder becomes the centre of a relationship in constant negotiation, where each advance depends on shared trust, listening and persistence. Nothing is guaranteed, everything is won in the next moment.

Between real risk and delicate humour, Simon and Quinn expose the fragility of balance as a duet. The body hesitates, adjusts, persists. Falling is always possible, but it is precisely this possibility that keeps the action alive. The relationship between the two figures becomes a continuous exercise in adaptation, where supporting the other also means accepting being supported.

One step at a time affirms persistence as a daily practice. Not as heroism, but as a repeated decision, to continue despite instability, to try again after failure, to trust when fear sets in.
