Donzela, by Joana Vasconcelos, returns to the Castle, its place of origin, as a presence that reactivates the space into which it is inscribed. More than an object to be contemplated, the work establishes a direct dialogue with heritage, landscape, and the collective imagination, affirming the city as living matter in constant transformation.

Between memory and contemporaneity, Donzela introduces a subtle tension between strength and fragility, permanence and risk, inviting an attentive gaze open to interpretation. Its presence does not fix meanings nor impose itself as an untouchable monument, it instead proposes a sensitive relationship with the place, where imagination intersects with history and the territory asserts itself as an active context for creation.
