Another Imaginarius Creation will have its Portuguese premiere at the International Street Theatre Festival – Imaginarius: Black Market, by LUIT – Laboratoire Urbain D’Interventions Temporaires. It will take place on 23, 24 and 25 May at 9.30pm, on Descobrimentos Street, leading its audience on a foray into the black market, where something invaluable is negotiated that cannot be sold for money: desire. The discourse becomes risky, showing the weight of words, where each scene is literally negotiated with the audience.
The “Black Market” performance is part of Roundabout Europe, an international project co-financed by Creative Europe, which brings together five major festivals – Imaginarius – International Street Theatre Festival (Portugal), KoresponDance Festival (Czech Republic), Out There UK), Passage Festival (Denmark) and Spoffin Festival (The Netherlands) – in the construction of a European circuit of residencies in the five festivals.
During the artistic residency of this French company, in May, there will be an action for training the local artistic fabric. The project foresees the integration of two local actors in the artistic residency process to co-create the “Black Market” intervention on the days of the Festival.
It should be noted that this European cooperation project, Roundabout Europe, strengthens the position of Santa Maria da Feira in the international circuit of artistic creation for public space and Imaginarius as a reference project in the international context.
