Correfoc asserts itself as a living practice of occupying public space, where the city becomes a territory of tension, encounter and collective transformation. An ancestral gesture that has crossed generations not by remaining unchanged, but by continuously reinventing itself, keeping fire, rhythm and the collective body as languages of presence, resistance and celebration.

This action emerges from the encounter between a Catalan association of diables and a local association dedicated to working with fire and percussion. This crossing embraces multiculturality as a conceptual practice, not as juxtaposition, but as a relationship built over time, through listening and the shared experience of risk. Fire appears here as a symbolic and political material, capable of temporarily suspending urban order and activating an intense and demanding shared experience.

Correfoc transforms streets and squares into a moving route. There is no fixed stage and no safe distance between those who watch and those who cross the path. The audience is invited to occupy the city consciously, embracing proximity, full presence and controlled risk. In this contemporary ritual, tradition and creation coexist without hierarchy, projecting the future through collective practices that continue to question how we inhabit, share and move through common space.
