Maria Teresa was born in 1994. From an early age, she learned how to work. Between sewing machines, domestic routines and accumulated silences, she built a life shaped by service and repetition. An existence moulded by gestures learned before words, by a daily discipline that permeates intimate space, labour, relationships with others and with time itself.
The scene is organised as an unstable territory, where places and functions overlap. The noise of the machines persists, gestures return, memory repeats itself. The journey is not linear, it is built through accumulation, through continuities and small ruptures, revealing how work, violence and guilt become persistently inscribed in a female experience that learned to endure before being able to speak.
Between birth and the present, between imposed silence and the possibility of song, Ossos de Ofício questions the moment when something shifts. What happens when a body ceases to accept being merely function, merely inheritance, merely trade. Fragility emerges here not as failure, but as a critical force, opening space to think of idleness as resistance, work as a historical construction and artistic creation as an act of denunciation and transformation.
