CREATION SUPPORT
Virulana is an act of embodied memory, a painting in motion that, through curly hair, whispers what was denied and celebrates what has been reclaimed. The action unfolds as an intimate process, where each gesture carries traces of restraint, adaptation and learned silence.
Through acrobatics, painting and movement, a woman unearths the silenced gesture of wanting to be different. What emerges is not merely an aesthetic affirmation, but the revelation of everything that had to be hidden in order to be accepted. Hair becomes the symbolic material of this liberation, while also pointing to a broader journey of recognition and belonging.
It is not only the hair that is released. Memory, desire and the possibility of existing without correction are also set free. Virulana proposes a simple yet insistent gesture, where reclaiming is not about returning to the past, but about remaining visible.
