Orfeo & Majnun na Floresta arises from the Orfeo & Majnun project, an intercultural and inclusive project inspired by the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice and the Arab love story between Layla and Majnun, which addresses common themes of love, loss and longing.
Both Orpheus and Majnun have the gift of music and poetry, and when they speak or play the lyre and the lute they are able to enchant even the most ferocious animals, which, listening to their music, protect them and do not abandon them.
This installation is intended to portray the moment of refuge and anguish of these two men who, as they are unable to be with their loved ones, take refuge in nature, where they live in harmony with the animals.
This installation takes us to an illustrated scene, representing the union of various animals in a dark and serene environment, where these two love stories intersect.
