Running and throwing are ancestral gestures, almost automatic, inscribed in the history of the human body. In Runners, these essential movements are placed under new rules. Two performers run without going anywhere, tethered to machines that impose rhythm, speed and limit, while a musician-orchestrator conducts the action as one who tests hypotheses, creates games and introduces deviations. What appears simple reveals itself to be complex, demanding and deeply physical.

The performance is built around a central paradox of the present. We live surrounded by technology, efficiency and systems of control, yet increasingly distanced from the direct experience of movement. Runners neither denounces nor celebrates this condition, it exposes it. The body responds, adapts and resists. It runs because it has to run. It throws because it knows how to throw. But it does so within a system that measures, regulates and conditions. The machine does not appear as an antagonist, it is context. The music does not accompany, it directs. The game does not fully liberate, but opens possibilities within rigid rules.

This constant tension between autonomy and control, instinct and structure, runs through the entire performance and resonates with a future already under way, where freedom is negotiated gesture by gesture. Between extreme precision, repetition and visible fatigue, Runners transforms effort into a shared language, asserting that imagining possible futures also involves relearning how to trust the body, rhythm and the intelligence of human movement.
