The INATEL and Serralves foundations renew their partnership with the festival

The INATEL and Serralves foundations have renewed their partnership protocols with Imaginarius – Santa Maria da Feira International Street Theatre Festival, continuing to support the creation and dissemination of proposals to be selected within the scope of the Call for Support for Local Creation (CACL), whose applications are open until 18 August. Registration is also open for the international Mais Imaginarius competition, aimed at emerging artists from around the world, who can present their projects until 26 August.

Under the Call for Support for Local Creation, associations, local companies and independent artists, born or resident in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, are challenged to submit applications for original creations, interacting with public space, centred on the theme of the next edition of the festival – “Progress” – and designed for wider dissemination, on national and international routes of similar festivals.

CACL thus maintains the seal of the INATEL Foundation, to support the creation and circulation of content to be premiered on Imaginarius, and the partnership with the Serralves Foundation, for logistical support and hosting of the two creations from Feira in the programming of the Serralves em Festa festival , ensuring the continuity of these projects.

In practice, and shortly after their premiere on Imaginarius’ main programming, projects by artists and companies from Feira go directly to the Serralves em Festa festival and events programmed by Fundação INATEL, an entity that fully funds the support grant for the two local creations and ensures the travel associated with the circulation of both, opening doors to the dissemination of artists and projects from Feira in benchmark national and international events.

The rules for participation and the application form for the Call for Support for Local Creation are available HERE. The results will be released by 10 September.

Applications for Mais Imaginarius are still open until 26 August, an international competition for emerging artists from around the world who wish to present projects for the next edition of Imaginarius.

Up to 20 projects from various countries and artistic disciplines will be in competition at next year’s festival, with the one most voted by the international jury being awarded an artistic creation in residence in Santa Maria da Feira, to be premiered within the main programme in 2026.

The rules for participation and the application form for Mais Imaginarius are available HERE. The results of this selection will be announced by 4 October.

Remember that the 24th edition of Imaginarius, to be held between 22 and 25 May next year, marks the end of a trilogy that brought “Dream” to the festival in 2023 and “Freedom” in 2024, ending in 2025 with the theme “Progress”.
