Within the scope of Imaginarius – International Street Theatre Festival, the City Council of Santa Maria da Feira is launching two new Public Calls for “Sabores Imaginarius’21”: one addressed to restaurants and chefs, and another to the county’s fogaça makers, pastries and bakeries, thus once again investing on the promotion and leveraging of local products and flavours. The first moment of Imaginarius will happen mostly on the digital stage, between 27 and 30 May, and this edition’s “Imaginarius Flavours” are adapted to that format, by favouring take away and home delivery services.
As of the fifth, and until the 19th of April, applications for the Official “Sabores Imaginarius’21” Restaurants and Fogaça Makers are open. All catering and beverages, bakery, pastry and fogaça establishments in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira can participate, which only requires filling in the respective form – Restaurants or Fogaça Makers -, available here.
Ten restaurants and chefs will be selected through the choice of a creative and representative Imaginarius Menu from each establishment, consisting of starter, main course and dessert. The jury will privilege creative, urban and signature gastronomy, but also evaluate the use of endogenous products, preferably by local producers, and the quality of the result.
In the Public Call for fogaça, 10 certified PGI – Protected Geographical Indication sellers will also be selected. The presentation and creativity of the by-products derived from Fogaça, the product packaging solution for customer delivery, the history and traditions associated with the product presented and being a member of the Feira Fogaça Producer Group Feira are among the criteria that will count when selecting applications.
The jury is made up of five members, four of which are common to the two Public Calls: representatives of the Tourism and Communication, Public and International Relations Office of the Municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, a representative of the municipality’s catering training offer and a prestigious chef with origins and training at the Santa Maria da Feira Hotel School. For the selection of restaurants there will also be a representative of the Feira Business Association, as well as a member of Feira Fogaça Producer Group.
This year, Imaginarius – International Street Theatre Festival will first meet with its audience on the huge digital stage, between 27 and 30 May, while maintaining the innovation, creativity and diversity of the shows which for the last 20 years has surprised artists and spectators. Given the digital format and, regardless of whether the bakeries, pastry shops and restaurants are open, the Municipality of Santa Maria da Feira intends that the “Sabores Imaginarius’21” Official Restaurants and Fogaça Makers can sell their gastronomic offer through their take away and home delivery services, or even through carriers.
On 22 April, the Municipality of Santa Maria da Feira will be publishing through its communication platforms the 10 Official “Sabores Imaginarius’21” Restaurants and Fogaça Makers.
